Description: |
Truly remarkable small boat, I don't really want to let her go but I am currently a 4 boat owner and need to be realistic. I have been picking away at this project for over two years and what follows is a detailed description of what's been done and what still needs to be done. The boat has been hauled out for the last year as work and life have got in the way.
Solid fiberglass construction, no core anywhere except the cockpit locker lids and small raised section on the foredeck. Cabin top is close to an inch of solid fiberglass, I'm not making this up you can put a tape measure where the dorade vents are... The arch where the mast is 1.25" solid fiberglass plus there is a teak tree trunk of a compression post. Insulated overheads and hillside, nicely finished locker trim. Top notch construction/joinery everywhere you look.
The good: Nice isomat anodized spar, internal halyards, steps up the mast, matching twin 15' whisker poles each on its own track. 6 x Barlow bronze self tailing winches Bronze external chain plates. CLC eastport pram in bronze and teak chocks on deck New newfound metals bronze handrail fittings with new stainless tubing. 4" cast bronze dorades Bronze deck prism in fore deck New A.B. refrigeration. Newly installed Taylor's 030 stove/oven Double sink in galley Fresh and saltwater taps (foot pumps) New chart table New teak and cane locker doors in salon New teak trim in galley Bronze and stainless grab rails inside Garmin 740 plotter on swing mount Matrix vhf/ais Simrad tp32 tiller pilot 2x 100 watt solar panels on swivel mounts on stern rail Led lights everywhere, very cool antique fitting in the salon overhead. Electrical system is 100%. Fresh tan kiwi grip on the deck 2gm yanmar (raw water cooled) runs like a swiss watch, (650 hrs based on history and what I've been told but no way to verify |

The boat was built for serious cruising but only ever sailed from ft Lauderdale to the st John's river, she lived most of her life in the fresh water of the river where I found her and bought her from the second owner.
What still needs to be done: There is an integral 50gal fiberglass water tank under the vee berth. Nice big clean out/inspection plate, the tank needs to be sanded and recoated inside (2 gal kit of food safe epoxy paint included). Currently running off a 30 gallon bladder. The head is currently a bucket, small fiberglass holding tank still in place. Some vee berth cabinetry was cut out by the previous owner and still needs to be repaired, the headliner in the vee berth was never installed. The fuel tank has a small leak. It is cleaned and empty and currently running off a 6 gallon tank in the cockpit. The engine needs to be removed to get the fuel tank out for replacement...
She did fill with rain water thru the cockpit lockers while I was gone. Just above the floor. The teak and holly will need to be replaced. None of the windows leak, she is a very tight and dry boat other then this mishap. Outside is dirty from sitting in the yard. Inside still shines like the pictures. I lived on the boat for the last year before hauling her and with basic clean up she is liveable and sailable but it would be nice to see her fully restored.
A very worthwhile and rewarding project for the right person.
The mainsail cover is toast. Full batten main, staysail, furling jib and Hank on jib all very serviceable... The asym is from my Seawind 30 and too big for this boat but I made it work, not included.
Included but not installed: Icom M700 SSB with tuner Force 10 kerosene bulkhead heater (easy to tee off stove tank) Moritz bronze anchor windlass Teak timber for longer bowsprit Teak table for salon
Photos pictured are recent and exactly as she sits. The interior cushions and piles of parts are in my parents garage in west palm beach. If you are interested I can share more photos of he interior put together... |
