Serenity is a 1987 Mikelson 50 2 overall length masthead sloop rigged sailboat designed by William Garden and built in Taipei, Taiwan. She has a keel stepped aluminum mast and boom, recent replacement (10/2018) of forward and aft shrouds including lower turnbuckles, and all running rigging replaced. (11/2018) Entering Serenity at the cockpit, you find a large u shaped cushion surrounding the helm, equipped with a wooden wheel and an aluminum pedestal with compass, engine controls, GPS and Bowthruster joystick control and remote mic for VHF. Entering the companionway on starboard side of cockpit, you descend a curved stairs (with convenient and well thought out storage under several of the steps) into the Galley on Starboard and U shaped dinette ( adjustable table lowers to provide additional berth space) on Port. Engine gauges and navigational equipment are located on Port side as well as on the forward bulkhead we find engine controls and helm wheel (stored in a locker) for those days of inclement weather. Descending down a few steps takes you into the lower salon where you find a U shaped dinnette (adjustable table for increased berth space) on starboard side and Master electrical panel, Ice Maker, Washer/Dryer, 43 Smart TV, Roll Top Desk on port side. Going forward, a guest bath is located to port with head, lavatory and shower. Taking a few steps forward and to starboard takes us to the guest berth with pullman berth and more storage including a full length locker. Going forward you next step into the crews quarters/workroom featuring 2 pullman single berths on starboard and work bench and tools on port. Forward of that, access is available to the anchor/rode locker and bowthruster head. |
