EXTRA: Evening Star is an excellent cruising vessel. Between 1998 and this year I have made seven ocean passages between Norfolk VA and Fire Island Inlet, Long Island, NY three with my family and four with men friends. I have taken Evening Star around Long Island with stops along the way. In 2002-2004 I took a trip south around Key West to Dunedin FL and lived on the boat for the entire eleven months I was away. Several legs of this trip down and back were ocean passages.
Evening Star races well also. The PHRF is 177. I have won a 4th place in 2012 in the Cock Island Race and I know I won a 3rd, and a 1st in the cruising fleets but dont know what years I won these awards. I raced in the Cape Charles Cup also. In 2010 2nd place, 2011 4th place , 2015 5th place, 2016 3rd place, 2017 1st place. In the 2017 win Evening Star finished 3rd out of all 46 boats entered in the cruising fleets. |
