Description: |
1972 20 high-side Simmons Sea Skiff. A piece of Wilmington history, one of the last made by T.N. Simmons at Myrtle Grove Sound. Restored in early 2000s with two-part epoxy paint all around.White interior, navy exterior, fresh Nantucket red bottom paint. Mahogany transom. Non-skid plywood floor. Still has the original plexiglass windshield. No motor, but a steering wheel is mounted and the cable run to the stern, new gas tanks mounted under the seats, and there is a bilge pump. It has been stored out of the water under a tarp since restoration. Presently it is in need of having the bilge repainted, some wood replaced on the hatchway forward of the windshield, and coaming repainted, but needs very little to be a sharp-looking boat. Several examples of this boat are on display at the Cape Fear Museum, and you can learn more at www.simmonsseaskiff.org. No reasonable offer refused. |
