I'm selling my 1967 27ft Irwin Sailboat 'Guacamole'.
Guacamole is a tiller vessel, sloop rigged and swing down center board. She was just recently hauled September 2017 bottom completely redone with barrier coat and bottom paint. All aluminum Swing board repined and is good condition. Top sides painted navy blue. She has all over the Bahamas and Mexico and is a capable vessel for the right captain. She was featured in Blue Water sailing Magazine documenting one of her passages. I'll include the lit in the photos.
It is a hurricane damaged vessel that I have put back together enough to be watertight able to go sailing. I've had her out several times over the last couple months and is sea worthy I just do not have the time to make her livable again. I am selling her 'as is' and would be a great live aboard/pocket cruiser for someone on a budget and time to work on her. The list of parts to make her a comfortable live aboard again is below. There is a lot of information to share so I'll put some here but feel to PM me with other questions.
The main is in fair shape but useable. I have been sailing with the combo many times in the last couple months and work well together. The main sheet is on a Harken 4:1 fiddle and Harken traveler rail. The 110% headsail is in good shape an on a harken roller furling unit and lead back to Harken self tailing winches. The running rig is useable but some needs replaced soon-ish. These include main halyard, jib sheets, spin halyard, whisker pole hoist. There is no motor but has a motor mount and 15 gallon fuel tank in the aft lazerette. A 3 hp motor will move her along enough to get her underway to move it where you would like to take her. One working ST marine ST1000 auto helm and one I picked up used as a spare but never turned on so I can't speak if it functions. She is on a dock currently and is paid through the end of May. She can be worked on at the dock but NO Liveaboards. This dockage can be extended if needed to finish up her refitting.
Equipment:
- Here is the list of bits that come with the vessel and need installed to make her a comfortable live aboard. Plus Much more. Feel free to contact me with any questions. It has a built in insulated icebox and all the parts to install refrigeration. There is a cold plate on board but needs installed along with compressor. Used but fully working unit recently recharged. I'm told from the tech it will hold gas sitting idle like it is. Manual Jabsco head and 8 gallon holding tank. Worked fine a couple months ago but now back flows a little bit. I assume it is just the joker valve. The black water tank is flushed and full of freshwater for storage. 10 gallon freshwater tank with functioning manual foot pump. I also have a electric pressure pump onboard but it needs installed. There is no stove or oven. The old one was gross from the storm. There is still the frame an bracketing to gamble a stove/oven but I have been using a propane camping stove in its place. This would come with the vessel. There is a 15 kg Delta with 15 or 20 ft of 3/8" chain on board and plenty of rode for anchoring.
