Description:
The Islander 32 MK II is a nice looking boat. The bow is raked nicely, has a subtle sheer and the reverse transom flows into the hull line. The lines make it look as though it is larger and more modern sailboat than it actually is.

The leading edge of the deep fin keel is raked aft. It has a large semi balanced rudder that is mounted well aft and provides excellent rudder control with the tiller. The Islander 32 is a masthead sloop rig with a Keel-stepped spar, tall rig with an air draft of 47 feet.

The hull is solid fiberglass and the deck is plywood cored. The hull-to-deck joint includes the aluminum toenail that runs nearly the entire length of the deck. The shrouds are mounted inboard, making it easy to navigate the side decks and improves the the sheeting angle. it has a anchor roller forward with an external self draining anchor locker. The MK II has a spacious, comfortable cockpit. It has mid boom sheeting with the traveler over the companionway. There are lockers aft, to port and starboard.

The interior is spacious, comfortable and has ample storage. The finish is dark teak, the workmanship is first rate and large port lights brighten things up. The interior arrangement is conventional. The forward V-berth has storage below. Next aft is a hanging locker to port with the head opposite. The saloon has a large table that folds away onto the main bulkhead creating a feeling of roominess. Offset settees with cane faced lockers above that are attractive and practical as they allow the lockers to breath. On L-shaped gallery witch include a three-burner stove and oven. It has a single sink and decent sized icebox. The electrical panels are tucked away on the aft bulkhead just to port of the companionway and a quarterberth is to starboard. It has a 13 horsepower Volvo Engine tucked away under the companionway and is easy to work on. Fuel capacity is about 21.6 gallons.

The 32 MK II is nimble, well balance, fairly fast and able to stand up to a blow. The boat is quite seaworthy and typically doesn’t require a reef until the wind is over 20 knots.
