Description: |
This cruise-worthy 1965 Columbia C31 was built to last generations, and fully restored in 2002-2003; including a full interior refit with all updated systems, and exterior refit with all new hardware, rigging, lines and paint.
She is hull #5 of this beloved Morgan design, and her original owner enjoyed racing success in the Chesapeake, including first in class in the Annual Race Week of the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association in 1967. In Chesapeake Sails: A History of Yachting on the Bay (1999), author Richard Henderson states of hull #5: “White Shadow IV did exceedingly well in Chesapeake races, winning fleet High Points (the Labrot Trophy) two consecutive years”.
Due to unforeseen changes in our lives we must reluctantly seek a new owner for this incredible boat. Purchased in 2008 from the family that completed her loving restoration, the boat has been in storage for four full seasons now (always covered for winter), and now awaits her next owner to get her back in the water and sailing where she belongs.
Accommodations: Chain locker forward, V-berth, head to port, hanging locker to starboard across from head, galley to starboard, L-shape dinette to port, quarter-berth to starboard, Nav-station to port across from quarter-berth, storage aft of nav-station. |
