Entropic is the perfect gentleman's day sailor that is still offshore capable. Owned by a marine professional, she has had a beautiful restoration that makes her unlike any other Alberg 35 in existence. Don't think of her as an Alberg 35, but as a Hinkley Pilot 35 for a third of the price. She has teak decks that were re-cored in 2009 and teaked in 2010. The current owner bought her in 2001 and began restoring her immediately. He cruised her extensively between the Virgin Islands and back, but in the last few years she transformed to her current form as an obtainable gentleman's day sailor. The stanchions and life lines were removed in 2009 when the decks were redone. They could be reinstalled, but the lack really shows off the beautiful Alberg sheer line.
The rig was redone in 2014 to really complete the day sailor motif. A Harken roller furler was added when she was re-rigged. That furler carries a 2013 Quantum 100% jib that leads to short jib car tracks. The smaller jib makes her very easy to tack when on a harbor cruise. The Quantum main has slab reefing with all the controls at the mast to keep the cabin top very clean.
She has an atomic 4, but don't let the gas engine scare you since this motor is flawless. She was rebuilt in 2000 and has all of the A4 goodies installed. This engine has electronic ignition, recent exhaust, completely redone freshwater cooling system with the upgraded indigo thermostat. This broker has sailed aboard Entropic a number of times, and this engine runs so smooth and the engine locker is so well insulated that one can barely tell the engine is running! She has hydronic heating so that on cold days, you leave the engine running and it keeps the cabin nice and toasty.
In the teak decked cockpit, is a beautifully made tiller with a Simrad autopilot. This boat has perhaps the cleanest and most functional deck and cockpit I have been aboard. Everything is simple and well laid out to keep the clean lines. She has new cockpit electronics, depth and knot meter, installed in 2016. |
