Description:
1961 Alden Challenger 949L Kittywake. She has a fiberglass hull and deck built by Halmatic in England, and a wooden cabin and cockpit completed by the Molich yard in Hundested, Denmark. Kittywake has teak cabin sides where most Alden Challengers had mahogany. The teak sides were specified by the family who had her built.
This is a rebuild Boat with a rebuilt diesel engine (Westerbeke 4 107 rebuilt to Perkins 4 108) It needs a new cabin top, the old one has caved in ( I have the marine plywood for this repair ) and a new cockpit sole. Almost all items needed for restoration come with the boat, including winches, four bins of sails(the jib is almost new. I will include with the boat 3 months free storage with the ability to work on the boat which is located on my property in central Virginia (acess to electricity ect.) This is a classic boat that needs a complete rebuild.
