33' Tyler Mouldings Neptunian 33

Designed by Alan Buchanan and built buy the Tyler Boat Co. of the UK as a blue water center cockpit cruiser the Neptunian 33 is an excellent choice for those looking for a long distance cruiser on a budget. Her construction is first class with a hand laid fiberglass hull, external chain plates and internal ballast. Rosalind is in exceptional condition and her layout is ideal for the cruising couple. The vessel carries 80 gallons of fuel and 100 gallons of water. She has 6 6V batteries, a solar panel and a high output alternator.

Engine/Tanks/Mechanical

The engine is located under the cockpit sole and easily accessed for maintenance. Special attention should be made to unusually robust steering arrangement which consists of sold shafts and U joints(see photo). The fuel tanks are located on either side of the engine and are constructed of FRP with a manifold and oversized Racor fuel/water sep. The 100 gallon water tank is located under the cabin sole and is integral to the hull.

Hull and Deck

The hull is hand laid FRP with longitudinal stringers. The deck is cored with plywood and is in above average condition per her 8/26/10 survey. She has Aluminum deck stepped spars with aluminum booms. The sails are in good condition with a new Yankee in 2006 and an Asymetrical spinnaker with a sock in 2007. The sail covers and canvas are charcoal gray. There is a Lofrans 12V electric windlass and a Grif Galvanized 35Lb plow with a chain and rope rode.

Electrical

6 6V batteries create 3 12V banks and provide ample power for the house and engine starting. Two blue seas master switches are located under the port settee. Much of the vessels wiring has been updated with marine grade stranded copper wire and a new breaker panel provides 12V/110V distribution. A Xanrex 3000 Watt inverter provides 110 voltage while away from the dock and a solar panel over the bimini trickle charges the batteries. A Sentry G140 battery charger is also found aboard

Cockpit and Aft Cabin

The cockpit aboard Rosalind has a full enclosure with a sunroof which makes it useable as a 3 season salon. There is a swiveling helm seat and molded seat for crew. The hard top has an opening sunroof which can be left open while underway for ventilation and for easily inspecting the trim of the mainsail. Entrance to the aft cabin is gained from an offset companionway with three short steps. Two single berths make excellent sea bunks and afford privacy for guests or the off watch. The port hanging locker has been smartly modified into a tool locker and there is a large hanging locker to starboard. Access to the propane tank and steering gear is gained by removing the recessed panel above the shelf on the partial bulkhead.

Head and V Berth

The head is located forward of the main bulkhead and runs athwart ship with the vanity to starboard and the head to port. There is a teak grate with a sump for the shower drain. A large V Berth with filler is forward. Thoughtfully place port lights and hatches provide excellent light and ventilation.

Galley/Main Salon

The Galley is located on the starboard side of the salon. There is a gimbaled 2 burner Hillerange LPG stove with oven. The deep well insulated icebox is immediately aft and a double stainless steel sink with H/C pressure water forward of the stove. A dinette with folding table is opposite the galley on the port side with built in storage lockers outboard and aft. A beautifully varnish teak and holly sole throughout the vessel and the Herreschoff interior is trimmed with varnished teak. A slim line Isotemp water heater was installed in 2009.
