SV Illusion is a proven and tested cruiser that we have daysailed, gunk holed and taken multiple trips to the Florida Keys and Dry Tortugas. Alas, my crew has grown up, we've gotten older and it's time to move on.
What makes SV Illusion stand out is the inmast furling mainsail. While certainly convenient to quickly deploy and put away the sail, you really appreciate it when have to reef in high winds - never leaving the cockpit.
A 4.5' Winged Keel is also blessing in the shallow waters of Florida. Illusion can go where most boats this size cannot and in Florida this is the max depth you should consider.
The below deck Raymarine Autopilot has the power to steer this boat is seas that the wheel pilots do not. It will drive straight as an arrow and we rarely actually drive the boat while cruising. It's tied to the Raymarine Wind instrument so you can set it to follow the wind - a dream while cruising.
