Up for sale is my 1977 Chrysler Buccaneer 18, Spicy Meatball. The boat is a great, competitive example of the class, and has had extensive modifications and upgrades to improve performance and ease of handling. Every inch of the boat has been gone though and improved. Shes ready to race and I campaigned her in 30 events in the past year.
The boat underwent significant restoration in 2008 and features many custom improvements & upgrades. The list includes a custom spinnaker snout, high mast step conversion, a custom boom, 9 higher boom conversion, jib tracks moved inboard to the seats, forward facing jib sheet cleats, Harken roller furling, a custom exotic wood centerboard trunk cap with inlaid flames, a Nickels-style rear storage compartment, a custom rub rail, an Andersen bailer, and secondary sail controls moved to mid boat for adjustment by skipper or crew. The boat carries a Nickels rudder and a custom tiller handle & extension.
I did a significant amount of cosmetic work to the boat, including stripping, epoxying, and varnishing the brightwork and polishing the hull. I replaced every worn gasket, plug, bushing, and bungie cord on the boat, installed new Spinlock halyard cleats, replaced the forestay with Dyneema, rebuilt the tiller handle, and improved the main bulkhead seal and internal floatation. I installed a new spinnaker halyard, and most of the running rigging, cleats, blocks, etc. on the boat are newer and in good condition.
The boat includes a 2013 suit of Schurr racing sails in good condition.
The boat is in need of some minor cosmetic fiberglass work & paint touch-ups in a couple places to be perfect, but nothing that impedes function. The boat has a clean Maryland title. It includes an older Sailors Tailor boat cover, a brand new matching Sailors Tailor jib cover, and sits on an untitled 1982 Tee Nee trailer with new wheels and tires, lights & wiring, coupler, and freshly rebuilt hubs & bearings. I have two spare wheels & tires and a new in box spare hub that will be included. |
