S/V El Marinero is a 1982 Catalac 8M catamaran, for sale by owner. She comes with 33" hull extensions/swim platforms/motor mounts 2x 9.9hp Suzuki.
Electric propulsion, hard dodger allowing complete cockpit enclosure with AC.
Lithium batteries.
5.000 and 12.000 BTU portable AC.
The Catalac 8M is a pocket cruising catamaran which has a solid reputation for quality, strength and durability. Although classified as a pocket cruiser, the 8M was designed with blue water sailing in mind. Twin diesel models can easily motor almost 1000 kilometers without refueling. Constructed with solid fiberglass hulls, these are quality boats which were built like battleships.

The boat is a 1982 Catalaccatamaran with approximately 1 meter hull extension to create swim platforms. There has also been a cabin top modification and cockpit cover created. The cockpit and cabin can be enclosed and air conditioned with a combination of the 2 AC units installed.
The boat has been converted to 48 volt lithium batteries (6@ 4100 WH each) providing power for the two electric POD drives which are the primary power for the boat. All of the cooking is done on induction cooktops which can run with shore power of one oftwo 3000 watt inverters. It also has 2 fuel injected Suzuki 9.9 HP gasolineoutboard should you need extended cruisingrange. This outboard has approximately 200 hours on it. Recently serviced.
The rigging and sails were purchased about 4 years ago including a new main, jib and code zero. The standing rigging was replaced at the same time. There is a B&G 12 " chartplotter and a linear drive autopilot with forward looking sonar.
There is over 1000 watts of solar available for charging all systems.
The Lowrance windlesswith both foot switches and remote control lifts the oversized Rocna anchor with 300' of chain.
The toilet is a Jabsco electric with macerator and a 25 gallon holding tank with deck pump out and over side valve.
The draft on this boat is 24" which makes it the perfect Bocas del Toro and San Blas cruiser. Very capable of extended off grid sailing.
