30' Cape Dory 30 Cutter

Selling my 1980 Cape Dory 30 Cutter after several years of extensive upgrades. A Carl Alberg design, the CD30 Cutter is a beautifully designed, solid blue water boat and a pleasure to sail.

I regularly single hand Merlyn, and she has also been great for sailing with my family of 4. She has been a special boat for us and is primed and ready to take you on your next adventure or pleasure cruise, for years to come.

2024 UPGRADES

Completely rewired: All original wires replaced. Every single wire, in every imaginable nook and cranny where I can attest I should not have been able to fit, has been removed and replaced/rerouted, including up the mast. All circuit panels replaced and updated by a professional marine electrician.
New lights: LED tri-color navigation, anchor, and steaming/foredeck light installed.
Brand new Electronics: Garmin EchoMap 73sv, Garmin AIS 800, Standard Horizon Explorer, LED Nav Tri Color - Anchor Wind indicator AMAZNIA ECO on Masthead
Pumps replaced Whale high-capacity manual pump and Rule 2000 GPH Bilge pump replaced
Removed and replaced rotten hot water heater, runs great
Teak brightwork is freshly sanded and ready to apply your preferred finish, or go low-maintenace gray

Brand New Sails: main, reefing hank-on staysl, with roller furler yankee on 2023 Harken Ocean MK IV Unit 1
Brand New Standing Rigging professionally replaced and tuned
Bowsprit Rebuilt The original bowsprit replaced with beautifully varnished and handcrafted Osage Orange.
New Windlass - Maxwell RC8-8 and 100 Peerless 5/16" Grade 43 Domestic HT Chain installed

2021 UPGRADES

Volvo Penta MD7A rebuilt
All bronze thru-hulls and hoses replaced
Composting head installed with solar vent. It's been fantastic and I'll never look back! Holding tank and head are still available if that is your preference.
