Description: |
Designed by Henry Morschladt, the Downeaster 38 is a classic, straightforward, common-sense sailboat that will evoke a nostalgic twinge in those who remember what sailboats used to look like. The price has been reduced for a quick sale.
These vessels are built for extended cruising, comfort and safety and can be a very comfortable and stable cruiser. With a full galley, comfortable salon, large v-berth and head, she could be a perfect liveaboard, cruiser or charter vessel. This is a heavy displacement, off shore vessel, although she can be easily handled by a cruising couple and she will sleep six. Her clipper bow, wine glass transom, and clear deck, offer timeless elegant lines with a comfortable luxurious interior. She is strongly built with a one-piece hull and hand laid fiberglass.
This is somewhat of a Project boat as her owner passed away before completing her refit. Her sails and engine are good, as are deck and hull. Engine starts right up. Down below she is in need of restoration. Boat has a good title and is currently being priced for a quick sale and is sold as is. She can be sailed today and comes with loads of gear currently aboard. |
