Building and history Nice wooden cutter built by the current unique owner and launched in 1999 according to Lyle Hess' design. This is a 30 foot boat designed by Lyle Hess based on the traditional Bristol cutters. For the owner, building this beautiful wooden yacht was a labor of love, starting with the initial felling of an old Kahikatea tree for the main timber, chosen from those growing on his old Northland farm. The owners left New Zealand in January 2005, and traveled via Tasmania, Fremantle, Cocos Keeling, Mauritius and Rodrigues to Knysna, South Africa, where they arrived in December 2005. Then in 2006, the yacht traveled along the coasts of Mozambique, Madagascar, Mayotte, Zanzibar, Tanzania and Kenya. She arrived in Polynesia in April 2022. Between June 2022 and June 2023, numerous works were carried out: deck renovation, careening, hull painting, overhauled engine, varnishing, major cleaning, etc... |
