Number 313 sailing and rowing Dyer Dhow built off the innovative Dyeresin in 1954. Bronze seat braces, original tiller hardware, two part spruce mast, original boom, replacement Thurston Dacron sail, original bow bronze clip and painter. Original shrouds with bow clip and bronze fittings with cotter rings. Dyer provided oak gunwale replaced 2020, centerboard replaced 2019. New spruce oars with non leather oarlock protectors included along with extra pair of oarlocks for bow rowing. This Dyer was bought for me, the seller, when I was eight years old by my grandfather who wanted me to learn to sail and improve my rowing. This dinghy was the tender for our cruising sailing boat in the 1950s and 1960s, and travelled from Maine to Connecticut and in between, the Cape, the Vineyard, Nantucket, Elizabeth Islands, etc. This dinghy hauled people, gear, ice and groceries from the cruising sailboat to land safely for years. The Dyer nine is known for stability while hauling up to 650 pounds of people and gear. Also good in Frostbite sailing. |
