1982 COLVIN GAZELLE FOR SALE - GAFF CUTTER KETCH - CORTEN STEEL - $ANY REASONABLE OFFER. - DELTAVILLE, VA (CHESAPEAKE)
Length on deck: 42 feet
Name: LE PATRIOTE
Registry: CANADA
I'm selling Le Patriote, my Colvin Gazelle ketch.
Many more videos and photos available, just ask.
Rigged as a gaff cutter-ketch (the mizzen is a pointy-headed sail). Aluminium masts in tabernacles. Oversized stainless standing rigging of unknown age, looks to be in good condition, no meat hooks.
From fore to aft: yankee, boomed jib, gaff main, bermudan mizzen.
Accommodations:
From forward to aft -- V-berth forward, then storage to port and head to starboard, then a dinette to starboard and settee / pilot berth to port, then galley to starboard and large nav station storage to port. Then the engine room / workshop with tonnes of storage (crouch height only). Aft cabin does not have standing headroom either, but is roughly a foot higher than the engine room. It contains two single berths and a lot of storage room. Could be converted to contain a double berth.
Rough condition after a voyage from the Pacific. I bought this boat at auction in Monterey, California in 2023, and sailed it 1200 miles down to Pacific Mexico, with no problems. Used about four gallons of diesel over the whole trip, so you know she can sail. The boat is currently on the hard in Deltaville, Virginia, on Chesapeake Bay. Yard cost is $250 per month currently, going to $350 per year next year. The yard allows working on the boat.
Reason for sale is that I don't have time to restore the boat from its current state, with a family now.
All sails except for the yankee are SHOT, finished, done for. I've been offered used sails at a reasonable price, so they're out there. Or you could re-rig to junk and make your own sails as I planned to do. Located in Deltaville,
Virginia.

I had purchased this Pearson 367 in 2021 with a plan to refit and sail the Caribbean singlehanded. My life has changed and I am no longer able to pursue that goal.
Boat is mid-refit. She is in need of a fair amount of TLC to get her water worthy. Currently on the hard in Warwick, Rhode Island.
Work I have completed:
All portlights replaced with New Found Metals, stainless steel portlights. All portlights open and come with screens. ($6,000 spent on NFM portlights and screens).
Refit of all inside lighting. All upgraded to LED.
Added multiple 12v charging ports throughout the boat.
Added multiple Caframo fans throughout the boat.
Refit of 12v and 110v electrical panels. Created custom drop-down panel to allow easy access to back of electrical.
New grey water Whale pump.
New faucet in head, galley, and shower.
Bilge and all lockers thoroughly cleaned repainted.
Battery cables replaced.
Items I have purchased which have not been installed yet:
Water heater
Pex plumbing- installation is about 50% complete.
Memory foam mattresses for the v-berth.

Inishnee is a beautifully maintained boat proven world cruiser in excellent condition with many upgrades. Her two comfortable cabins, include a vee berth owners cabin. Her teak and holly flooring with teak cabinetry are beautifully paired to create a warm comfortable feeling in her spacious salon. A well equipped galley aft of the U shaped dining area and settee allow for an open feeling.
Thanks to its displacement relative to size, the deep forefoot (in front) that then transitions into a cruising fin keel, skeg-hung rudder, and solid construction, this yacht has a comfortable motion in waves. Its not a racing machine, but for many cruising sailors thats exactly the point.
This boat is virtually ready to go, well kept and wont be on the market long. She has had many of the improvements necessary; teak decks removed, lead ballast removed and exchanged for steel, and the bottom peeled and epoxy barrier coat prior to new bottom paint in December 2024.
Thru hulls replaced
Accomodation
The spacious main salon features a comfortable U-shaped settee to starboard, upholstered in blue fabric in excellent condition. The adjustable dining table allows for easy conversion between dining and lounging, and there is ample storage beneath and behind the seating.
To port, the well-appointed galley is thoughtfully laid out for use underway or at anchor.
Forward, the private V-berth cabin includes generous storage and a solid teak privacy door. A full head with a separate shower stall provides the comfort of home on longer passages.
Aft to starboard, the private aft cabin offers a cozy retreat with its own teak door for complete privacy.

This 1994 Catalina 30 is a freshwater sailboat used mostly in Grand Traverse Bay. It is kept in a marina slip in the summer in Traverse City, MI. In the winter, it is stored inside at Northport Boatyard in Northport, MI. It is clean and well maintained. I replaced 90% of the running rigging this summer and installed a new track in the mast for easy hoisting. It has a complete wrap around enclosure for the cockpit; plenty of fenders and dock lines; very clean interior; anchor (no windless); fin keel with spade rudder; very clean bottom with no damage; new Dutchman flaking system for main. The price is not indicative of the boat's condition. Comparable or lesser boats list for $27,000 to $30,000. This is priced to sell because I have purchased a newer boat. Located in Northport,

READY FOR MEXICO! 1989 Nonsuch 36 hull #65 of 68 built, purchased by current owner September 2010, always well-maintained, surveyed about 2 years ago. Most people that come aboard are surprised at how roomy she is, seeming more like a 45 foot vessel. Full teak interior, u-galley, head with separate shower, comfortable interior with six foot six headroom, four Dorade teak vent boxes with s.s. cowl vents, four opening hatches, ten opening ports, screens on all hatches and ports, comfortable cushions and bunks in good condition. Cabin is a nice place to hang out or entertain - very comfortable. Extremely easy to sail (great family boat), two electric winches in the cockpit, all halyards led to cockpit and with 34 feet of waterline very fast, mannerly and well-balanced on all points of sail. Imagine surfing down the California coast off Point Sur hitting 16 knots while the autopilot steers the boat - she has done it with just two crew in safety and comfort. Anchoring is easy with Lewmar windlass - sleep well with all 3/8 chain to Mantus 55 pound anchor! The Universal 45 h.p. diesel powers her along at 6.5 to 7 knots using around one gallon per hour. Includes Spectra Watermaker and solar panels for self-sufficiency. Everything works - please see equipment list for details. If you are seriously in the market for a great all-around vessel for day sails to long cruises, safe and easy to sail, I invite you to inspect her to appreciate the condition, equipment, thoughtful Mark Ellis design and Hinterhoeller (Canada) build quality - you will not be disappointed.

This 1972 documented Tartan 30 has been in our family since 1978; our children grew up on it. It has been on many extensive cruises. Neither my wife or me can sail any more due to age and extensive health issues so we must sell.
The hull shines up beautifully; the bottom is VC-17 and good; topsides will need a good scrubbing and paint at some time in the future; teak is natural; lots of interior teak.
The trailer is a recent addition. It is a heavy-duty triaxle road trailer; tires and spare good; electric brakes. Previously a 34' sailboat was on it. (valued at $4500).
Interior pictures may look tinted red; that is from the red winter cover.
It is easily single-handed. Located in Traverse City,

Westerly Griffon II. 100 % exterior refinished from keels up, decks, portlights and cabin top with Awl grip and/or equivalent. Work was performed by Sail craft Service in Oriental, N.C. The engine is a Volvo 2002 which is running AOK. The sails are in new condition with the main having been hoisted less than 6 times since newly installed and test sailed once with good effect. There are 2 Fortress anchors, a VHF radio, ownership logs, flare gun, extra rigging hardware, basic tools and life preservers etc. The head works fine. The interior headliner is 80% or so removed as part of the refinish job and needs to be fully removed for interior refinishing of which I personally would not replace with the same kind of headliner. I'd simply sand and paint and teak strips or the like. The interior was not an issue for us because we only used her as a daysailer. Located in Mitchell Harbor,

Inverters can now handle any AC load on a boat, including substantial air conditioning; lithium-ion batteries store the energy needed to power the inverters (and all other boat systems) for days; and alternators recharge the batteries with limited engine run times, mostly when underway so no additional run time is required. This new inverter lithium system has numerable fail safes built in. All 3 sails are on furlers allowing easy deploy of sails, easy sail reduction, and choice of set up. The Club footed furling staysail is a great easy to use high wind or safe night sail. The like new interior woodwork indicates very light use during the boats life. This is Rare. Pictures are recent and reflect the actual look of the boat. A list of upgrades including dates and costs is available upon request. Price of boat is below cost of recent upgrades. ISLANDER 37
The Islander 37 has the classic lines of the 70s and a bullet proof fiberglass hull. The predecessor to the IS 36, it has a sleek performance cruiser design that is very well powered. Its A quick boat in light winds but heavily built to handle offshore. Its been perfect for going out to the islands for extended periods and doing costal trips up and down the coast. With its Great Bones and its fresh paint its at a perfect point to outfit her to your needs. Everything on the boat is in good working order and ready for a quick trip. She has a newly Rebuilt Yanmar 3gm30f that has been very reliable with low hours! The interior seems to be rare to sister boats with all solid teak and mahogany which was a huge reason I bought the boat. Its a very cozy liveaboard for you or a couple like weve been enjoying for the last 3 years. Were looking for a bigger, long term boat to go cruising on and thats our only reason for selling. We love Naia and look forward to passing her on to the next crew! LOCATED IN A LIVEABOARD SLIP

"PRICE REDUCTION FOR QUICK FALL SALE"
Classic S&S custom Tartan 41 that has spent most of the time in fresh water. Heavily modified under the supervision of the original S&S designer including keel and new spade rudder. Custom teak toe rail and interior with teak slat ceilings. Originally owned by the owner of the Shelburne Shipyard and maintained to the highest standards.
Not your typical T41. Goes through head seas and to weather with a vengeance.
Great boat!
First owned by Steele Griswold - former owner of Shelburne Shipyard - Mame is a heavily modified Tartan-41. The hull and deck were ordered unfinished from Tartan Marine in 1974 and delivered to the Shelburne Shipyard where the interior and teak toe rail were installed to Mr. Griswolds specifications.
The Tartan 41 was designed by Sparkman & Stephens (S&S) at the request of Charlie Britton, founder of Tartan Marine, Co., who was eager to produce a boat that could compete with the new Nautor Swans. Both were designed by S&S and are almost identical versions of the custom racing sloop Morning Cloud commissioned by Sir Edward Heath.
Midway through her racing career Steel Griswold, an engineer by training and a former P-38 fighter pilot hired S&S to oversee the modification of the hull and rudder. The original skeg and rudder were removed, and a new rudder designed to resemble the wing of a P-38 was installed about a foot further aft. The underbody was completely faired with a finer entry forward, and the keel was lengthened to over 7 feet. Two blocks of lead were also removed from the keel to lighted the boat. The mast is a custom tall rig double spreader with Navtec rod rigging and hydraulics.
The boat was repowered, and a teak cockpit installed by the second owner complete with Harken electric winches and Raymarine electronics as well as roller furling, windlass, and anchor bow roller.
Mame has had a remarkable racing career on Lake Champlain and is still regarded with admiration by the local racing crowd and boat aficionado. Located in Shennecossett Yacht Club 1010 Shennecossett Rd Groton CT 06340Groton,
Connecticut.

Ready to live the Caribbean dream? This classic Ted Brewer bluewater boat is well equipped and ready for offshore cruising anywhere in the world. This solid vessel has been regularly maintained, with many recent upgrades. The interior is spacious with standing head room throughout (6'2), and boasts many large windows to let in plenty of natural light, both rare features in a boat of this vintage. The cockpit offers plenty of seating for evening sundowners, while at sea it provides protection during spirited sails. With a hull speed of 6 knots, she is both fast and stout, fun yet safe. Canadian-built, the cutter-rigged Cabot 36 is consistently on lists of the best blue-water boats. She was made for the North Atlantic, but is perfectly at home in its current Caribbean location of sunny St. Martin.
She has a large private double V-berth cabin with cupboards for storage, enclosed side shelves and a hanging locker. Separate entrance to the head, which is also accessible from the main salon. The head is equipped with a manual Raritan toilet with Y valve, sink, shower, and hot and cold pressure water.
The main salon has a U-shaped dinette to port with a large teak table that drops to form a comfortable double berth. The six-foot settee to starboard serves as an ideal single pilot berth for overnight passages.
At the bottom of the companionway there is U-shaped galley to port with a sink with hot and cold pressure water, and sea water and freshwater foot pumps. This boat holds more fuel and water than most midsize cruisers (455 liters/120 gal). The galley also has a Force 10 three- burner stove with oven, and an Isotherm fridge with ice-making capabilities and secondary cool box.
Great access to the newly reconditioned (2024) Yanmar 4JH2E engine. Ultra-suede cushions in good condition. All windows and port lights have been recently replaced.
All cabin lights LED. New Corian counters in galley and head.
April 2022 survey available upon request.
Currently hauled out for hurricane season. Launch fees prepaid. All you have to do is splash to live the Caribbean dream. Located in St Martin Caribbean,

From the Com-Pac Horizon Cat webpage:
"The Horizon Cat is a classic boat for the diehard traditional sailor a real Cape Cod cat with a shallow fin keel for added stability and windward performance.
A high-aspect kick-up rudder is incorporated for convenience and extremely light helm. Quick, nimble, and comfortable, the Horizon Cat has a large cockpit and extensive accommodations.
In addition, the exclusive Mastendr mast raising system revolutionizes the trailer-boating experience."
This is a beautiful Horizon Cat Boat that has been very well loved and maintained. I purchased her a two years ago to help introduce my toddlers to sailing. It's a super fun boat to sail in light winds and they love it. Now that they are hooked, I think it's time to list her and find a larger sailboat.
She recently participated in the 2024 Catboat Regatta in Beaufort SC. She may not be blessed with speed, but she was fun. She is stored on the trailer under a mooring cover and needs nothing to set sail today.
Not in a super big hurry to sale her, but will entertain all reasonable offers.

Engine: Perkins 4-108 Diesel #ED70058U597087K, with a Hurth transmission
LOA: 38' 3.5" Beam: 12'1" Draft Board Up/Board Down: 4'6"/10'3" Displacement: 19,150 lb.
Fuel Tank: 43 gallon aluminum
Water Tanks: Two stainless steel tanks totaling about 100 gallons
This Bristol 38.8 is a premium quality, ocean-going sailing yacht from a well-regarded American builder. Designed by renowned boatbuilder and racing skipper Ted Hood, the Bristol 38.8 is a classic design with a build quality that is not found in modern production yachts. It has a shallow draft of 4'6" with the board up and 10'6" with the board down, allowing for great windward performance.
The Bristol 38.8 is also known for its comfort and ability to handle rough conditions while keeping the crew in control and comfortable on deck. Terra Nova is well-equipped, has been continually maintained and had numerous upgrades by her current owners, who have owned her for 27 years. They purchased her from the original owners, who had the yacht built by Bristol with custom opening portals throughout the main cabin.
The interior is stylishly updated and is trimmed out in abundant amounts of teak, with a teak and holly cabin sole.
A major haulout was done in February - April of this year, with new bottom paint and propeller paint, new zincs, one new bronze seacock, all engine belts and filters replaced and fluids topped off. Located in Panama City,
Florida.

I have been the very satisfied sole owner of my 1984 documented Herreshoff Cat Ketch 31, NOMAD. If you are not familiar with this design, please FIRST read the excellent comprehensive review from Practical Sailor (search PS reviews under " herreshoff-cat-ketch-31 "). Although the review emphasizes the simplicity and excellent sailing qualities of the design, I would feature her fine sea-keeping ability and ease of single handing (no winches, main and mizzen sheets easily handled while seated at the tiller). And, she has a unique tabernacle system for the freestanding masts that can be operated at no cost by a single person dockside or at anchor. With masts folded,'air draft' is 12 ft. Her interior is the optional two cabin layout in tropical oak, Tabebuia rosea. (see interior photos and cabin layout plan)
Nomad, is seeking a new master who;
Wants to coastal cruise and gunkhole in comfort with their partner or family,
Values the elegance, simplicity, practicality and romance of a classic design,
Appreciates the wisdom that L. Francis Herreshoff imparts in The Complete Cruiser,
If the above describes you, Nomad would like you to contact her current owner to get acquainted. Located in Patchogue Long Island,
New York.

2024 Tartan Fantail Weekender model sailed for 2 seasons in fresh water
I ordered the boat new from Tartan and after the first season I got a slip at our marina that could fit a Corsair trimaran unfoldedand Ive always wanted a trimaran.
Tartan has been making the Fantail for approximately 14 years. My boat is the first one with a white hull. It is a beautiful boat, in nearly new condition, and has a very large cockpit!
The boat was stored inside my storage unit.
This boat is a lot of fun to sail. It just takes a few minutes and you are out on the water. The engine is super quiet, the boat backs up with ease, and the engine easily pushes the boat along at 5 knots. My friends at the marina with much larger boats always wanted to go out on the Fantail. The cockpit easily fits 6 or more. When my wife and I went out, she could lay down in the cockpit and go to sleep, and I could control everything from the back of the cockpit. There is not much to do when you tack because the jib is self tacking and you control the jib sheets from either side of the boat.
I priced out a new Fantail Weekender with the same options: over $160,000. For over $35,000 less you will get a very clean, nearly new Fantail. Note: If you look at older Fantails, many have an aluminum mast, and these boats don't sail nearly as well. Also, the Torqeedo Pod system is relatively new. Many of the older Fantails have the 3.0 electric motor that is essentially an outboard that is mounted in the stern locker and has to be kicked up when sailing. In my opinion it ruins the look of the boat. With the pod you get a nice clean stern.
The boat just came out of the water and is on the trailer and ready for next season. It can be left in my storage unit over the winter, or picked up anytime.

Super fun and solid classic J-boat racer-cruiser. Bought from the original owners family 5 years ago, and have been restoring it slowly since then. I have done lots of work, bought new sails, tons of new rigging and hardware, and have loads of fun cruising and racing Betegeuse. You can sleep 6 for a fun overnight or race with between 6 and 8. Has a small head and galley is generally comfy down below.
This is the predecessor to the J/35, with the same hull mold but fitted out with a more complicated and taller rig, and I think originally more amenities down below. J/boats 3rd boat J/24 - J/30, J/36), when powered up its a blast.
Deck is in great shape. Hull was professionally media-blasted, faired, and epoxy coated in 2022.
Selling because life is moving on. It was a great project, and time for something new.
I can share a much more detailed summary of the boat condition on request.

Location: South Pacific (Philippines)
After 9 years of bluewater cruising across the South Pacific, we are offering this exceptional Hallberg-Rassy 48 at a reduced price of $440,000. Great Solid Boat with Lots of Potential! A great boat for the bay. Tall rig for those light wind days and a shoal draft keel for those shallow coves.
We recently bought a house and we don't have time to use the boat. I would love to have it sold before the marina fees are due again. Any reasonable offer could be considered.
I have done many upgrades to the boat and have the materials to do some more. It has been well taken care of, but still needs attention on a few items. I believe the price reflects that. I will list a few of the notable repairs that I have done since 2022:
Replaced Wooden Mast Support Block with Fiberglass and a S.S. Screw Jack
Installed new VHF antenna on mast and all new VHF cable
All new Wet Exhaust Hose
New Bathroom Faucet
3 new Sink Drains
Drain line from ice box ran to foot pump at galley sink.
New S.S. Mast Step Plate for rigging
Installed a new Halyard and mast head pulley for a spinnaker.
Drained and cleaned diesel tank
New Enlarged heat exchanger for the engine and a new 165 deg. thermostat
New Main Halyard and ball-bearing masthead pulley.
New Bottom Paint in 2023 Micron CSC
