22' Cape Dory 22D

The Cape Dory 22D is a compact yacht with “big boat” features. The boat has beautiful, traditional lines. It is sloop rigged and has a full keel which makes it very sea kindly, safe and stable on all points of sail. This boat has the D label because it has a Yanmar Inboard 6.5 Diesel Engine. The 22D is extremely hard to find on the market. My current survey shows no Cape Dory 22Ds to be found at this point. DO NOT CONFUSE IT WITH A CAPE DORY 22 WHICH NEEDS AN OUTBOARD ENGINE. It is very easy to single hand with a self-tacking jib and a Harken Roller Furling system. The boat has a self-bailing cockpit. While it does not come with a trailer the boat is easily trailerable. Below decks, teak trim accent the warm, spacious interior. Four opening bronze ports and a Lexan deck hatch provide light and ventilation. It has a large Vee Berth forward and Settees and quarter berths that allow sleeping for 4. The boat has Teak trim on the sole and bulkheads. The galley has a deep stainless steel sink with generous storage space and a drop in ice box. This boat goes anywhere from a lazy afternoon sail inland to overnight coastal cruising. It is a very pretty boat and very easy to sail with others and alone. I am only selling it because my wife and I have bought a much bigger boat.
